  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How often do you Chang oil?

on our 450's we change the motor oil and filter every fourth ride, which is about every 400 miles we are also using fully synthetic 5w40 as instructed by tinken.

I have a 2000 TE 410 with Amsoil in it. I'm just wondering how long others go before changing their oil.
11 Huskys, wow, I believe you have me beat. I do have one of 4 1966 Husqvarna motorcycles in the country.

Ok here we go 73 RT 250, 73 RT 360, 75 250 GP, 75 360 GP, 76 360 WR, 87 250 WR, 2-87 430 CR, 87 430 XC, 91 250 WXE, 2000 TE 410 and 2001 Husky boy 50. Wow I guess I'm up to 12! Not all are runnable but most of them are. One of my good friend had a 67 250 that was a cool bike! It would be awesome to have a 66 lot of history on that one.

09 Te510 I change mine every 300 to 500 miles and have done so ever since I bought the bike new . I use 10-50 or 10-60 full synthetic ELF and have been using their products for both 2 and 4 strokes for years .

Same here for the oil choice! Very good product at a fraction of the price of the so called premium brands!

Excepting you cannot use 50 or 60W in the newer bikes or you risk oil filter collapse. I have even seen a stainless steel filter collapse on a 501.

This oil made a believer out of me back in 2005 when I was running a KTM 300 at an enduro in Speedsville New York and punched a hole in the side case and lost the trans oil . I don't know how long I rode like that before I realized my right boot was soaked with oil with little or none in the trans . When I pulled it apart I didn't have to replace anything but the case cover , there was absolutely no damage to anything in the clutch or trans not even discolored plates. That's what I've been using ever since IMO good stuff

I run motorex 10W-50 Cross Power Full synthetic in my 2013 TXC250R. I change oil every 5 hours of riding or there about.

I use the THe HIFlo HF116 filter and change it every other oil change.

I am near 90 hours of hard riding year round including Ice Racing.

I have not had any issues with the bike at all and plan to continue this.

Vlave only adjusted once and only 2 of the shims needed 1 step. One intake and one exhaust were changed, the other 2 are still factory shims.
