  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hows your new model te250 holding up /performing ? ?

few Questions.....
whats the general fuel range of these things ?
can you get larger casings for more oil capacity ?
do they need a damper ?
service items, how much/where and how often ?

And generally, anything else , let me know ! :)

Range is about 35 miles of mixed trail.
They are a little more twitchy then the old huskys, but I still don't think it needs a damper...I run a damper on my Yamaha.
The electrical components are suspect.

I've had fuel pump, starter and coil trouble and I barely ride the bike.

It does run great though! Handles fantastic!

Sexy too

Minor problems at first like most others but all has been fine with mine for sometime now. I put an IMS tank on mine, and while I'm not super found of the fit, I got on my longest ride 149 miles with no low level light.

Reckon I'll need one. Don't want one but don't want to push a 100kg lump from bottom of bush to nearest petrol station :D

Will do a 10/20k run with it and see what it takes.

I've been measuring between 25-30 MPG on technical tight stuff. No reliability issues at 90 hrs/1000 miles other than regular maintenance items. If the fueling is straight the bike should be very formidable in the woods. In open terrain, you'll get stomped by the big bore riders by sheer horsepower.

Yeah not interested in big bores anymore. Had the 510 and loved it up the beach but hated in in faster flowing tight trails. Less is more now !
