  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Husky 125 runs with the big boys

Husqvarna
Pro Class
This weeken at the AMA Dist 37 Duel European Scramples held in the desert of Southern Calif ,saw the Husky 125 run hard . On sat morning
in the sen/mag 250 and open class where there were about 70 guys on the line i finished 15th overall and second 250 mag ,.first overall was
Paul Krause. Then back to the pits to add some gas as my younger son who has not raced in 2 years wants back in and he wants to race my bike .Well he is in the combined 125 250 open expert class .He lines up next to Nic burson factory Husky
and at the finish he get 18th overall out of about 85 guys and 4 th 125 expert .You would think the day was over well not yet for the 125 as we then but on our new lights and waited for the sun to go down.Did a few hours of night riding getting ready for next weekn team night race.
Then sunday morning back to the line for me, the sunday course was much faster and i had the 125 pinned The look on people faces when they get passed by a 125 going flat out across the desert is priceless, any way finished second again and about 10 overall.A much better day overall, but back to the pits again add some gas so the kid can make his race. This time he lines up next to Kurt Caselli since Nix Burson was not there.Caselli is from so calif and some times comes out to mix it up with us .Well the Banner drops and the 125 is pinned again the kid get like 10th to the bomp out of almost 100 guys. When it is all over the 125 is still running he finished 3rd behind 2 KTM 200s and 12th overall
Now all of this was done on my 2008 CR 125 which has 11 months of racing on it .All i want i one more race out of her the 100 mile long night race next weeken Then i promis to rebuild it before the next National in Sept since we get the summer off
PS made a few husky Bucks this weeken so off to order parts

Congrats are in order there ajaxauto.

That little 125 that wished it could...and did ! Plus more! :D

Wow congrats to you and your son! Unreal how a stock 125 can run with larger bikes. I watched my 08 CR 125 take on a 06 KX 450R on a 2.5 mile MX track and win. The boy with the KX said I just couldn't catch that little thing. These two have been going at it for some time now but the KX has always won up intill yesterday whn I loaned my CR 125 out. He normally races him on his old Honda CR 250 and loses pretty bad. Hey good luck to you and your son in the 100 (WOW) mile race next weekend. ajaxauto you guys need to get a huge kick back or at least 2 new 125's from Husky. You are selling some bikes my friend!

Ajax your stories are so freakin awesome. You guys should be given a couple '10 bikes with the big tank.

Wish you raced baja.

Love reading your stuff. Love it.

Mike I love Baja and Mexico have done the 250 500 and the 1000
at least 15 times .Was lucky enought to win some to but always in
a car or truck.I did always prerun on bikes i personally just do not feel safe there any more and that is something i miss.Maybe some day it will change because the people and the place is so great and i only have good stories from there to tell .I even did the La Carreria Pan
America road race from Quamala all the way up to the Texas border
3000 miles thru the Mexican main land .The road race took 7 days
and i drove a 1957 Mercury cars have to be 1964 or older anyway we fiished 7th overall and first in the historial stock class. The car was a Bil Stropp copy of his original race car .I got to see just about every major city in mexico as we went thru the country. One quick funny story one day as we approched Mexico city we needed to find our hotel as it was a check point in the timed event.well we stopped a taxi driver and gave him 20 bucks and told him we would give him another 20 if he showed us the way to the Hotel. That guy could drive and i never went so fast thru a town up and down streets thru alleys ect.Anyway we arrived on time and beat alot of other people who got lost in one of the biggest city in the world.Best 40 bucks i ever spent at a race

Closes race i can compair Baja to these days is Vegas to Reno i was thinking of doing it on the 125 but for some reason they made it a 3 day 1000 mile race this year.I do not want or can afford to spend 3 days in Death Valley in August .Maybe next year it will return to the original 500 mile type race .I have done that one 12 times on a bike and once in a car

As much as i dis like motocross which Glen Helen has a lot of I Will
be there I got lucky at round one with a win But at Glen Helen the regular worc super fast boys will clean my clock .I did pay for a transponder and a membership so what the heck it is all for fun
Robert why dont you come out to the night race in Luceren this comming weeken it is fun to watch if you can not race.

Time is tight Kids are now off from school and moto entertainment means local area rides and maybe some camping. I am dying for more Tecate HS info and look forward to the fall H&H season maybe if maybe if I can swing and finish 2 more H&H events!!!
Glen helen thing is a must like you said xpndr and club fees are paid Sean seems to be having banner year with WORCS/WHS packed with riders. I know you will break the line and do the Tecate HS this year!!! For this next THS pending my bike health and my health I will ride the 3hr 40B class this time with all the big dogs again (have not been trail fodder for the pros for a while)

PS because of the WORCS portion of the combined event there will be the usual big leaps and other MX stuff out there at the Glen (I will roll all the do or die stuff)
