    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi all, 1st time poster, long time lurker.
My Terra will be delivered tomorrow :banana:

I've asked the local dealers about various Genuine Accessories, and haven't had them either get anything yet? Handguards, supposedly next week. Heated grips, etc, not until mid-Feb?
Has anyone had any luck ordering, and actually receiving anything? I've seen some bashplate photos here, and @ ADV, but will probably fab my own, KLR-style.

BTW, should be 50F tomorrow in N. IL, hope the bike gets here early!!

Congrats on the new Terra and good luck with decent break in weather.

One thing to check if you go with the OEM heated grips is that I was told they need the dealer to enable them using the dealers service computer. Not an issue if you planned to have the dealer install, but if you were thinking if installing yourself you may need to check.

The only actual OEM accessories I've scene on bikes in the US is a skid plate. Lots of other stuff should be arrive soon is what I've heard, but I don't actually having anything on order.

Saw the handguards at my dealer yesterday when I went to order the touring screen. I noticed that they had BMW part number stamped on them. I bought them as well. Which F650GS are they from.. the pre 2007 version? or did you mean the G650GS? My wife's 2008 F650GS (twin) has handguards which have an aluminium bar and are quite different.
 
These are the Husky Accessory handguards; a wee tight around the brake reservoir/throttle cable 'junction'.
