  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I want one! Where do I get it?

Sorry guys, same deal with anything "cool" from the parts catalog. The chances of it EVER being produced again are about 1 in a million. Every dealer says they can order it but if you talk to someone in the "know" at ktm. They will tell you that it is on indefinite backorder.

There are a couple of really nice CF ones - I just fitted one on my TE449. Get in contact with Stef or Madonna at R&D Husky at www.husky.com.au (Australia)

The other good one is from P3 Carbon - (States), www.p3carbon.com

I bought the Muffler protector from R&D but the CF Front Disc Guard and CF Header pipe guard from P3

I had to get mine from you guys over there. Ordered from the guys at Bills who managed to track one down for me :-)

Just reviving this thread in a hope of finding a supplier of a decent muffler guard.
It's only a matter of time before I damage my mine :(

This product is currently under development"

is this going to fit my fmf slip on?

I fitted the special parts cover from new, I have dents to the muffler on either ends of the cover now!!
Good for if it falls off the stand at home in the dirt, muffler won't scratch.
No good for actual riding falls in the bush. If there's a better one available, fit that for sure!!
$900 muffler with dents, sad now:(

Yes plastic scratches like... well plastic. Can highly recommend Carbon Fibre pipe guard from www.husky.com.au (R&D husky). Usually in stock and look/fit great. I've had a few stacks in the bush and the pipe is fine, even the CF comes up a treat. Covers 2/3 of the pipe from top to bottom.

Ha ha, not worried about the plastic, the muffler it was going to guard is the thing that is damaged.
Still sounds fine & has no leaks, just looks horrible.
Guard didn't stop much at all.
A bit late now for something better.

I am a little bit confused as I have had the P3 pipe/boot guard on on my 449 with a Akra pipe for 2 years and it shows "in stock" on their website but "under development" for the same guard with the stock pipe?

Well priced part, looks nice.
Is it for the Akro slip-on or the big boat anchor muffler??

Here is the one from R&D Husky www.husky.com.au in Aus, also looks good & well priced taking freight into the equation.

This is what I have been alluding to. Fits the Akro beautifully and not only looks good (especially with a matching CF header guard) but does protect the majority of the pipe. (Trust me... I crash ALOT!)

I'm looking for something to help cover up my arrow can. The arrow is a little shorter but is slightly bigger in diameter. I might roll the dice and try the p3
