• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HUSKY TC449 with track kit VIDEO

RollinHusky

Husqvarna
AA Class
Here I am with a Husky TC449 supplied by Quad Expert, playing in the snow this last weekend!! The track kit is an EXPLORER from the Canadian company AD Boivin. Really fun to drive and the track hooks up pretty good!!

I rode a few bikes setup with them a couple years ago at a demo day. Those things are a hoot to ride & corner like they're on a rail. I made the mistake of hopping off out in the field, not thinking that the bike is sitting on top of the snow & I sunk in past my knees when I jumped off.
It's an interesting project trying to get back on a full size dirt bike when the seat is at the same level as your upper chest & you're standing in 2ft of powder snow. LOL

I realized that too when I dropped it in the field. There wasn't that much snow, but I still had to get the bike moving before I could get on, so I would dump it again. What a blast though. At times it's like being on water, minus the fear of loosing the machine!!

Might have done the same ride. Very big surprise! The set-up worked very well-I rode some pretty tight woods with some serious off camber and it tracked just fine. For sure no stepping off- you can drown!- the deeper the snow the better. Also as always more power is more fun, a 610 would be ideal.

Very true for power. The 449 is great but that track is hard to turn. A 610 would kick but big time!!

Were you at Lance's? That's the one I did.
