Greetings;
I know this isn't the correct place to list 'for sale' items, but I wanted to open this up for some discussion, insight, etc. This is a large collection and some of you might be able to work together on its purchase. Here it goes!
Rick Thorson was a fast friend of mine here in Lincoln, Nebraska; I met him a few years ago when I purchased my '82 125WR from him. When I picked up the bike, he opened his garage…and I couldn't believe all of the Husky bikes, parts, etc. before my eyes. I'm not sure, but I am guessing that Rick was probably a member of this group. He knew and loved his Husqvarnas! And he was quite taken by 1982 model lineup!
About one year ago, Rick passed away quite unexpectedly. He had battled some health issues, but seemed to be fit and very healthy…it was quite a shock to his wife Sara and family. He was a great dad (built and maintained a racing kart for his daughter) and he is greatly missed.
A few months ago, I contacted Sara about the bikes and parts. I didn't want to see a dealer or some opportunist come along and snatch them away; I told her that I believed Rick would want them to go to good homes! I wish I had room/$$$ for everything, but that just isn't possible.
So, this is why I am contacting the group. I have spent two evenings with Sara, looking at bikes and parts and shooting pics with my iPhone. There is a lot to cover! The bikes are in well-maintained condition (Rick had worked as an auto mechanic for many years). And the parts inventory appears to be something of a collection. I know that he had contact with older dealerships…and he must've spent a lot of time on eBay.
Sara would like to sell the bikes individually….and perhaps the tanks as well. But boxing up parts and shipping out packages (and more packages) isn't really feasible. So, she is open to some kind of offer for all of that.
Or, I am sure she would be open to an offer for everything in one lump.
Here is the list…here are some photos. I have put prices on the bikes, but not the parts. You can discuss this here, private message me, etc. Again, I have spent several hours looking at and photographing the collection, but there was much to do and so my knowledge might be limited. I will be happy to answer what I can. I have many more pictures and will post later.
Coffee, if you need to move this to Classifieds, I would understand. Thanks.
