• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I may have a new Husky!

I have been given the the ok on a new Husqvarna. I am a little torn on what to do. I have a 07 te 450 that has been a blast, and that I plan to keep. I think about somewthing a little more dirt worthy and sometimes I think about a bike that has better street manners. I am either leaning towards the te 511 or the strada 650. I don't think the terra would benefit me since I have a 450 that does fine on most city roads. The only onther bike that is in the mix is a 167 2 smoker, but I really like the idea of something to just ride without having to go to a harescramble or a ride park.

Sweet!! Good for you and somewhat dilemma on what do buy ... Yep, the Strada will be more hard-top mileage oriented ... I'd like to have one of these bikes (Terra) some day ...

That 167 would be a cool, easy to use and setup, bike and probably awfully good in the dirt trails ... At the most, you'll change a few jets and be set for ~yrs of riding ... Change the rings \ piston over the yrs and this 2T should last quite a while and not cost much to maintain ...

The TE 511 ... 99% good reviews on these bikes also ... Actually nothing not to like on these bikes if you like the design (plastics) of them ... Its intended purpose is pretty much like your TE450 but with all the new designed features of the bike ...

I like the TE 511 but I have a feeling that it will be the most expensive to buy and to set up. Maybe I should wait to try one of the new wr's to see if I would enjoy riding a small bore 2 stroke in the woods of florida. I have sometime to think about it.....damn BMW, bring that Nuda to the states**************************************** That is what I really want!
