• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi all Liam here new to this forum as i want a Husky after going into the showroom in Perth!

I'm new to dirt from road and would like your opinions on what best suits me

I want one that can sort of do the lot (sure they all do) more for long rides and around town plus weekend off road tracks.

Im 83 kg Aussie 180 cm price range 7 k so used nikes be way for me.

can wait for your replies and even more Bring on a Husky for me

It seems that a good TE 610 might be the go Liam. You are road orientated and want a bike that can do the tar but also do fire trails/forest roads etc. The 610 is a cracker at that type of work. Its gear box is more wide ratio than the other model TE's. It is also a mellow motor with good bottom end to mid punch which is what you really want. If the bucks allow a TE 630 would also fill the bill very nicely-just a bit newer and a bit more pricey. Good luck, they are a great brand of bike-now onto my 5th and regard them very highly for reliability, handling and ease of maintenance.

ghte dude thanks very much for the awesome detailed reply ill defina look into that Ted610 when i get back from bali thanks bud hopefully i can get a used one somewhere

I recommend a 2006 or later TE610. Aftermarket support is very weak for older models.

No worries as soon as back from holiday's ill start looking and browse more of this awesome forum
