• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If Husky goes to Showa for 2010?

I was sworn to secrecy on what is new, but sadly, there is no new 250/300 2T development being done.

The MY10 WR250/300 is the same as 09.

Aw, thats a bummer. I thought they would give the orange men a run for their money. Maybe 2011 will be all new?

Thanks for the honest information Scot.

Scott,
Not to pick on you, but...... My '09 WR125 is sitting here and you told us no way they were coming. Granted a whole new model is more than a decision to import a model into a specific market, but more is going on than we know. There may be no new '10 2 strokes, but there is 2 stroke developement going on. Some ex KTM 2 stroke engine guys are at Husky now and I doubt they are doing 4 stroke work.

They were not coming at that time. It wasnt until BMW/Husqvarna MADE the US take the WR125 that it happened. They did not want to import the bike for 09. In hindsight, it was a good move as the WR125 has been a pretty good seller according to the people at Husq NA.

The guy who taught the tech school said that the new 250F and a replacement for the 450/510 and TE610 are their top priorities and they dont have the budget for a new 2T for the foreseeable future.

Scot Harden has said that Zokes will continue be on Huskys in the future. Marzocchi techs from Italy have been working with Ty Davis' Team and he is impressed with the results.

My sources had Ty Davis not happy with the Zokes and he opted to run another brand and is currently doing so. I dont know for sure what they have worked out, but not many people can ride like Ty Davis and have his experience. I think he will have a big impact on what we'll see on production Huskys in the future. Blip Blip, you have any more on this?

Not to sound at all disrespectful to a rider of that caliber, but sad fact is the Husqvarna world of suspension production does not and will not revolve around him. Thats just a fact of production and economics. I won't even worry in 2010 when they show up with whatever. I like Husky, the stuff is good stuff...........NUF said. If we al kep sounding like this, we will see Nancy Pelosi on a Dirt bike soon.
just my 4 cents
Joe

husky

ty's husky looked like it was running zokes at the last BITD .. now the east coast GNCC ride is sporting ohlins front and rear. but that is one bike, not a whole team of 7 bikes. :excuseme::excuseme:

Your right Joe....whatever they come with in 2010 will work or be tuned to work....even if they come with KYB...guys will be fiddling with them in no time....there are more tuners that work with KYB plain and simple....

I remember I cringed:cry: when the ohlins shock was replaced with the sachs shock.....and I dont hear too many complaints about the sachs shock....in fact it works quite well.....
