  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

IMS tank pics and specs?

So I've searched all the forums until my eyes are bleeding!:eek: I'm looking for a pic of the IMS 3.4 and 3.9 gal fuel tank. I have an '06 TE250. Wondering if they are the same size overall (read that somewhere) or any other differences between them. I'm looking at getting a natural (like to be able to see the fuel level) or black. I found links for 2006 threads to pics that are not working any longer so if ya got a pic I'd love to see it. I have red/white plastics for what it's worth.
 
Personally I'd get the Clarke, definately fuglier but it's narrower and seems to last much longer than the IMS. When I get home I'll post pics of my '05 TE with both. I've had my share of IMS issues. Now if Clarke just had FI tanks...

I bet since those pics of the new 2011 beemer/huskys came out any thoughts of bigger 08/09/10 desert tanks went kaput....
 
I attached some photos of 3.4gal IMS tank (natural) on my '05 TE510.
Best full side view I had, closest to a rear view, and a front(ish) view.

Got mine from justgastanks.com........had a problem with a leaky seam shortly after getting the first one. Just-Gas-Tanks worked with IMS to get me an updated replacement, and have had no problems since
