  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hoping you guys can help me diagnose (even fix) my 2008 TE 450. Just installed HDB front LED turn signals and powerlets and switches. Everything worked great for an hour or so but I think something shorted (perhaps when i flicked the blinker switch to test - note that they did work before). When I turn the key the front and rear lights light but there is not the usual sound (fuel pump?) and no neutral light (yep, its in neutral). Start button does nothing. I checked the two 20A (yellow) fuses on left side and three little fuses on right side and all appear fine.
I can't tell from the manual which fuse is for front indicators.
Thought? Help??
Would greatly appreciate any help!

It certainly sounds like a fuse. Do you have any lights on the dash?

The flasher relay is just past the fuses on the left. Trying to remember if people replace that when they go LED.

Sorry, not much help. Pretty sure the two 20A ones are for the Starter Connector, at least that's what it says in the manual.

I could concoct a great story of diagnosing and solving the problem , but am just going to "man up." Somehow I had bumped the kill switch to off! So, never mind.... In my defense, I never use the kill switch (use key instead), and have no idea how it happened.
I will say that the HDB LED front guards are great. And the powerlet's installed into the top clamp with switches from HDB are pretty cool.
So, my bike is happily put to bed on a charger and all is well in the world...
Thanks and sorry for the false alaem.

Heh... my first instinct was to suggest making sure the switch was set to run. Then I spent the time figuring which fuse it would be, and came here to post it.

FWIW, I believe it's the fuse with the yellow/red and yellow/black wires.

Regardless, glad to hear it was nothing.
