  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi Gang,

Can you tell me what to look out for on this bike?

I found one that is plated and has a Reckluse.

Is has about 50 hours on it.

The owner is asking 3,800.

What are your thoughts on the price?

Are parts available?

Pros and cons of this bike?

Thanks very much for any input!

I have a 14 version with 50 hrs and it has been great.. some loose fasteners and I had the fork re valvde for the woods we ride and it has been flawless.

I have a 14 as well right around 80-85 hours on it, I blew a head gasket but have a feeling it might have been more of my fault with running low on coolant a bunch of times and overheating. but wasn't bad to replace. I also blew my rear shock out but might have been from ice riding.
Id make sure your gas tank clearance from your radiator hose off the water pump is good, I split probably 4 hoses there. Otherwise love the bike. Make sure to change the oil frequently, I try to change it every 2ish hours.

Parts are usually pretty easy to get, haven't really had to wait for anything. Go through Halls or Bills they ship fast to.

I have a '14 as well (~110 hours, 2100 miles). The big issue is with the electric start system, which seems like Husky got fixed sometime late in the '13 model year (do a search here- you'll find it). The good news is that the bike kickstarts super-easy, regardless of the e-start.

You will hate the gear-ratio spread.

The great news is that it's a little rocket ship, handles great, stops better than a KTM somehow, and has good ergos (but the pegs are a little high for me).

$3800 might be in the ballpark. Offer $3455. Unless the e-start is already screwed... then go $3100.

Great bike. It is a rocket ship and handles great. All I have done is set up the suspension for myself. Best value on the market
