• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Inlet Manifold for a 400 WR 84 model

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Running a few laps at the Bagshot Vinduro on sunday and had a couple of lean out moments after giving it some heavy revs. Noticed a split in the manifold rubber when i got home. are these hard to find? The event was dusty so i may be looking for a heap more parts soon...

Got a mate up here in Qld who retreads speedway tyres with some soft rubbery stuff and who thought that it would fix our manifolds.
He has put the stuff on and said that it worked.
BUT
He moves around a lot and only finds my manifold when he is packing up for the next move.
I will get it back one day and we'll see if it was worth the trouble.;)
Tempted to buy one of Phils just to save the waiting.:)

Man it was shot, 1 cm split but, the good news, it was on the bottom and theweight of the carb held it closed. no dust inside. on the down side ive got grey colored oil again. all looks good under theclutch cover, cant figure it out. will try atf next.

You don't need a Husky one, plenty of companys make aftermarket ones that will bolt right on. I bought one on Ebay that
said it was for a snowmobile for $5 a few months back , instead of the $25 that some ask. Here's an example:

I've got a clear plastic breather hose and can watch the g/box oil turn grey.
I have drained it and there is no water so I am thinking that the oil is getting all frothed up .
Just the type of oil I guess.
I am using Briggs n Stratton engine oil [ SAE 30 ]
Watch the ATF surprize as my gearshifting started to get sticky when I used it.

Thanks for the tip on the atf, i allowed the oil to settle and diluted it with bangwater but couldnt see anything sosuspect it is a frothing effect. i have the atf type f which is what the punters were reccomending. will give it a try. broke 2 lower exhaust mounts. i see some of Tony Trevoerts pics on the ozvmx forum fromsundays vinduro. check them out. cheers

If you ever have Oil, any Oil and you wonder if it has Water in it an easy way to find out is to take a small sample place it in some Aluminum Foil. Take a lighter and heat it it will only take a couple of seconds. If it has Water in it the Water will steam away and the Oil will turn clear again, all in a couple of seconds. I work in the Marine Industry, we get Water and Oil mixed all the time.
