• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

IRC M5B REAR TIRE

Dirtyhusky

Husqvarna
B Class
Has anyone ever tried one of these rear tires, I got a wr300 looking for a new tire. I was thinking about a MS3, but after reading reviews I was wondering if the M5b really had plenty grip and long life.

Thats my favorite tire if sloppy mud or rutted terrain,also if in alot of loose uphill the side knobs are like pole climber spikes,and hold up pretty well.They skate a bit on hard pack but mostly wheres that in Oregon.They will move mass amounts of earth !! dont get behind a big bore with one.Im a S12 Michelin guy for most parts but when theres earth to move M5B.{except man they got expensive}

We use to use them in MX years ago (late 80's, early 90's). They were a great cost effective tire for softer terrain as we rode mostly in sand and loam. They wore well and worked over a variety of tracks which is why we used them. One of our all time favorite tires for sure. I wasn't aware they were still out there. If I remember corectly we used them only in the rear and ran a 990 in the front.

All I have run on the back for the last two years... Used a 140/80/18 on my 450R, now use a 100/90/19 on my 125.

Lasts a long time, and like Bill says, it will move some earth!

That is favorite tire for the winter months. Works great for mud and softer terrain. I was getting the 140/80/18 but the last couple
have been 130/80/18 because it's cheaper and is better for woods, IMO. They are pretty durable and once those huge knobbs get worn down
a little it seems to do better on hard dirt or pavement.

I like them OK on big 4 strokes but don't like the handling on smaller bikes. Don't hold corners at speed well enough for me and feel like they move side to side to much. I would rate them as a good solid usable tire but IMHo there are several better tires choices.
