  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Issues with my 2014 TE 310 stalling

Joe Piddington

Husqvarna
B Class
My TE only has about 200 miles so far and it's stalling when I'm coming up to rolling stops with clutch pulled in. I've read that this is normal to this bike during the breaking period. Bike is stock and was remapped by the dealer. Any suggestions? Is this normal?

Hey Joe,
How much gas is in it when this is happening? I ask cause the gas flows forward (flat horizontal tank) and can leave the pump sucking air (btw avoid running an efi dry). Especially prominent on downhills.
The problem can be worse if your pump came out of its cradle and is at a higher position.

I wouldn't say its normal- but can be related to a normal problem.
If not in power up mode- then they can be so lean that they stumple pop and stall at random times.

What does it idle at? if it is lower than 1900 then open your idle screw (air bypass screw) till its is at 2000-2100 when warmed up. If it runs odd weak yet. Take it back to that tuner (maybe they missed something).

I believe the 2014 te has the Keihin EFI- so I don't know much about how they tune those or what they tune those with....

good luck-!

Try turning your idle screw counter clockwise 2-4 turns and see if that helps. Also you may want to check with the dealer on exactly which map they reflashed the ECU with. A new stock map or Map 2 or 3. To get my 13 so it would not stall and simply run when new my dealer swapped the stock air filter cage to the open TXC cage as well as re-flashed the ECU with a late stock map. That made it run without stalling. The stock map limits power to low revs and tops out quick. Open map 3 is pretty good and along with the open filter cage, opening up the velocity stack blockage and cat really wakes up the bike to 98%. The bike may start to run a little better with break in but I would find out the specific changes the dealer made so you can address issues with full information.

I did turn the screw counter clockwise two clicks and initially thought it helped but that wasn't the case. I am taking back to dealer today and will mention your suggestions...I'll keep you posted thanks for your help!

It happens with the gas at all different levels so I don't think that's it.i am taking back to dealer today for him to look at. I love the bike and she's trail ready but have to figure out this issue first until I really get out on some nice single track...thanks!!
