• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

just finished husky build.

Nice job
Looks like you will be out in the Circa77 class this year then. Are you down south or oop North ?

I see you followed through with your project. What cylinder did you end up using? Hows the 6 speed working out.I really want to put a 6 speed in the bike I built like yours.

I used a 1972 cylinder and piston and a 76 radial head[smaller combustion chamber]. bolts straight on with no modifications. piston comes to the top of the cylinder exactly so engines must share the same stroke!!! set ignition timing to 2.5mm btdc. didnt know what to expect the engine to perform like, was really pleased at how well its goes the 6speed works great.

I see the tires look to be Blackrock, what size is that on the rear, I can't quite tell, but it looks huge for a 250. Nice build, love the racers!!!

Im from the south of ukyou from up north?
I'm down in the Southwest. Devon Classic near Honiton on Easter Sunday will be my first one this season. I'll be on the 73 CCM, so pre-74 for me.
The Husky is for enduro and a bit of fun in the lanes. I may have a go motocrossing the 390 Auto when it's finished though.
Try Dartmouth Classic at Harberton on 6/7th May. Cracking track (yes, I'm biased :))

About the same age I wanted one too. Clews Stroka's in 72, and the CCM's from 73 on. Used to watch the Patchquick Trophy as it was just down the road.
Am I allowed to post a picture of a "non" Husky ??

My apologies for hijacking your thread Giley .....
But - a couple of my 73 works CCM. As campaigned by Bob Wright in the 73 Trans-AMA in the U.S. If only I could find some pictures of him riding it that year :(

Not the sharpest of pictures, but it was dusty. Me in 2010 -

Nice bike and cracking vintage jersey Grouty! I will be down to watch easter Sunday and combine it with giving HVA Andy another wheelbarrow full of cash. Will the Husky be out Giley?

Come and give me a nudge then. Be good to meet up.
I will be there on the CCM if it's ready. Left the pre-season check over a bit late ! The bike is with the "doctor" now. Hopefully collect it next weekend.
