• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Lighting Help (3 watt parking light)

Kevin_TE250

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Just picked up an Acerbis Cyclops from my dealer here In Boise. I think I understand what wires are what:

Husky Blue = Ground
Husky Black = low beam
Husky white = High beam

I know lots of folks have gotten aftermarket lighting .. what did you do with the 3 wattp parking light ? Just stub it out ? or commplete the circuit or do I need used it as part of my Low beam on the Acerbis ?

Thanks

Kevin

You can use it if you want or ignore it if you want. The "parking light" is required in some other countries, but not in the USA. I have a Cyclops knockoff and did hook up the parking light.

Upon rereading your post, I think maybe I was misunderstanding your question. Both the stock Husky and the Acerbis Cyclops have parking lights in them in addition to low and high beam. So it's a simple matter of hooking it up if you want. Has nothing to do with low beam in either case.

I had read a post from LurkerLou where saying " the other 2 plug connector that wasn't used for the original light shared a ground with the Stock headlight" So i thought I would need to to use it..

So what your saying is there is a parking light on the Cyclops (I can't see mine I'm at work) that will be hooked up from the small 3 watt light ?

Next stupid question

This unit has 2 55w bulbs in it.... one of them has a dual filament so it's both High and low... My TE 250 probably can't handle both 55watt units being hooked up for low beam correct ?

Check again if it's really a Cyclops. The Cyclops has 2 H3 bulbs (one for high, one for low) and the parking light. H3 bulbs are not dual filament.

looking at it now separate bulbs for High and Low 55watts each... ground for each also... and I've got the parking light... Damn maybe I can do this :)
