  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking for a quiet exhaust?

Hey all I am om a 2010 TE250 Wondering what you guys are using for a quiet Exhaust. Would like to keep the head pipe stock and just use a slip on exhaust pipe. Thx Jim

Just get the Db killer part number 8000 H0827 (the 8" one) and install it in your stock muffler. It will quiet your bike substantially

I think I may have that in a cabinet in the garage, but is that the one that will not allow you to use the spark arrestor?

Yea, the stock spark arrestor won't fit. You'll have to engineer your own if you need to have a spark arrestor. Google "Rick Ramsey TE310" and you can see how he made one.

On my bike, a TE250 powered up, with the db killer(8") the bike looses about 25-30% power.. probably the injection needs to be setup different with that thing. So, for street use, no problem, but for enduro, I dont use that db killer, it kills the horses inside the motor too

My 2013 Te 310R runs great with the 8" db killer. If it takes away any power, I would guess it mainly from the top end rpm power only--and not much. That's where I get in the most trouble, anyway--so I don't mind! Now I'm set up on map #2 which I was told was the map for stock muffler bikes. Map #3 was (supposedly) for bikes with high flowing racing exhaust. Maybe my kehin fuel system and my map are more compatible with a corked up muffler...
