  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc looks like my 07 WR250 has a foamy milk option :P

Still going through my new-to-me wr250.
It has issues, which the most recent is a milky substance coming from the case breather.
I don't have a 23mm socket to pull the drain, so that will have to wait until tomorrow.
I will be pulling the pump cover tomorrow, but have already started researching water pump seals.

Does anyone know where I could find one?

Thanks

Found a seal kit on ebay.

Other then the reverse threads on the impeller, any other pointers I should know about?

Pulled the pump.
I was able to remove the drain-plug with a crescent wrench, couldn't find a 23mm socket locally.
Milky, Milky, Milky.

I noticed the drain-plug was kinda ruff, since it's made out of aluminum.
I carefully filed the edges, reducing the outer size to fit snugly with a 7/8th socket

Now back to the water pump seal.
I was able to pull water pump cover, impeller, spacer and seal.

Didn't find the o-ring behind the spacer....or maybe item #3 is the seal?

Hi, your impeller doesn't look very healthy, I would try to find a new one if you can.
That part #3 is in fact an O-ring that goes behind the bushing:

OEM reference is: H800034083 , it's a standard NBR O-RING 2031 7.66X1.78 mm
The seal itself is reference H800038215

I wrote up the process when I did my engine, maybe you could find something useful there.

Regards.

Outstanding thread.
Thanks Hurky

Yup, going to replace the impeller.
I may have a local machinist make one...wish me luck.
