  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Lowering seat possible on Te 250 / 310?

henson802

Husqvarna
AA Class
Interested in these bikes but wondering if you can have the dealership lower the seat height at all?

Also - my local Husqvarna shop has the 250 and 310 listed as $700 difference (2011 models). Price is an issue so was wondering if that extra bit is really worth it - may look at a 2010 250 model if can get a good deal (I know to avoid the 2010 te310 models - heavier slightly). Not a hardcore racer or anything just using it for my own personal joy -

Thanks for any answers

There is a 35mm lower seat you can get for it from the factory. The 310 has just that little extra power for when you need it,don't need to rev the ringer out of it all the time and fan the clutch etc, but $700 difference? in Australia, the price difference is only $500

Never ridden the 250, but people say the power difference is noticeable and mostly in the bottom end.

Lotta joy in a 2010 te310 and if price is an issue you might get a substantial savings. I did. The 310 has nice power down low and is plenty fast. I lowered mine with the Kouba Link HL8-2 about 1 1/2 inch. Handles great. I have 30" inseam and can touch the ground with my toes no problem on smooth ground but still flop over if stall on uneven single track.
