Hello, My name is James. I've been riding for about 4 years on my first bike a 2006 Honda CRF230F. I am in dire need of anew bike with more power and less weight. So I decided in April I am going to purchase a left over 2010 Husky TXC 250. I am 6'2 170lbs so it should be a really solid performer I am thinking. Anyways on to the questions,
How often should I change oil?
How often should I check valves?
Should I go over all the bolts to make sure they are tight when I purchase the bike?
Hows the fuel mileage on a bike like this? I am thinking a IMS 2.8 gallon tank when purchasing the bike at the same time.
A little background info, for my 230 I actually changed the il more often than I should have probably around 2-3 rides which were around 3-8 hours a ride depending on where I'm riding. I am mechanically inclined and my dad is also he has been a Ford mechanic for over 20 years and just retired at the beginning of this month. So tools are not a issue for me.
Anyways happy to be here, and look forward to some answer and knowledge!
