  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Had an issue for about 2 months with an intermittent 'no idle' fault. I looked a sensor resistances, rechecked TPS voltages, searched for loose connectionsetc etc all to no avail. I really needed to look at live data in real time.

I got together with member Norman, and with his help we got his version of the 2014 updated HST software running on my computer in Aus.
I've also been lucky enough to make friends with an ex-dealer who has a HST box, but no software.
The 2 worlds have come together, and now the borrowed system is working perfectly!

As it turns out, it was nothing more sinister than a blown out Map sensor o-ring (likely caused by a backfire)
This was replaced with a Caterpillar fine section o-ring p/n 6V9746 & the bike is running perfectly again.

The great news is, I was able to upload the Akrapovic Titanium Race Pipe map (Map3) to the 2011 ecu!!
(I've also reset my TPS voltage back down from 0.8 to 0.7v)
The bike runs just the same as it did before when I had the standard map and high TPS voltage, however , there's an improvement in very light cruise where there was a slight hesitation before. That is now gone.

It will be great to have access to this unit now that the local dealers don't care about the red bikes.View attachment 62173IMG_20151114_170712.JPG
