• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Max bar riser height without new cable lengths?

I'm 6'5" and I *think* from standing over the bike a bunch that I need 3" risers to put this thing where I'd feel open enough standing.

I plan on a 2" higher seat too at some point so that will take up some of the slack while sitting.

What height risers have you guys tried without needing to put new extended cables on?

It seems the Rox 2" risers will work with stock cables no?

Curious what others have tried without needing new cables.

I also prefer bars with very little pullback, almost drag bars. I noticed from Renthal and other sites, a lot of the high bars seem to have a fair amount of pullback to them too. Seems to be sort of counterintuitive.

I'm definitely a n00b, so if I'm making odd assumptions, let me know.

I've got my eye on the 2" anti-vibe Rox Risers right now, pretty sure they work, not entirely sold that 2" is enough.

I've ordered some pro-taper SE ATV High bars.

Will post back with the results. I figure I'll start there and see how much more rise I may or may not need. I'm betting another inch or so and 2-3" on the seat will get it squared away.

*** Heh

These bikes take fat bars heh. So I'm exchanging for Rox 2" risers instead. I didn't like the severe pullback on the ATV bars really anyway. I like bars with almost no pullback.
