• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Mossbarger reed Cage / pro circuit boost bottle

what condition is it in and what size is the rubber carb mount?

I am running a 38mm Kehien air striker carb on my 430.

you have a ton of bikes, which one do you love to ride most?

You can still buy Mossbarger reed valves new from Mossbarger. Boots bottles dont work, so unless you are doing it just to do it, dont bother.

What is the outside diameter of the 38mm Kehien spigot? The mossbarger reed valves use the same rubber carb boot as the original Husky reed valves use for the 38mm Mikuni. You can bolt on any boot you want as long as it has the same bolt hole spacing as the reed block has. I believe I have 3 or 4 good used ones sitting on the shelf and will get the measurement of the bolt hole spacing for the carb boot. Also look at the reed peddles as that is about the only thing that wears on them.
I would say that 8 out of 10 times when I go riding I pick my 82 420AXC or 81 420AE. They are a blast to ride. I also like my 83 250XC a lot. My other riders are a Jeff Slaven built 87 430CR, 80 390/420OR and a couple of 360autos. Actually I like them all!

I checked the Mossbarger reed blocks I have and I do have a good one that is complete and looks like the reed peddles are good (none tatter or torn). The bolt hole spacing on the carb end that you bolt the rubber carb boot to is 70mm center to center. I don't know if there is a way you can send me private email? If so please do so if you are still interested.
