• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MT43 mounted...not the easiest tire I've done!

Taking the Michelin Enduro Competition or whatever it's called off the rear was a P I T A!!! Are those tires really that stiff? New Pirelli went on OK, but again...not the easiest tire I've done. I need to buy one of those tire changing stands so I'm not on my hands an knees anymore with 4X4s under the rim. :)

Anyway...new MT43 mounted and with the 13 tooth front it looks like I've got 3/4" between the mudflap and tire so I hope that's enough. We'll see tomorrow. Based on nearly every review I can find, these are *the* tire to run.

I've set it at 12 PSI to start (HD tubes) What do you guys like to run these at for dual sport (90% dirt)?

12 psi is too much. Let that tire work like it's supposed to and run 10psi or less, 8-9 with an HD tube should be ok.

Yes on 8lbs PSI and I use a trash can and wd-40 for helping the tire slip on around the rim. Works like a champ and dries so you have no worry of tire slipage.

I bought a gallon of tire bead lube for $5 which works a lot better than the windex I've always used. Live and learn.

I ran the tire at 10 PSI and it was fantastic. I see why they call them velcro tires. Even in the slimy mud it worked well and actually felt like it tracked a lot better than the knobby did in the same stuff.

I don't believe I'll run a knobby again.
