• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My god, gone for awhile and look what happens. Husqvarna RIP.

You just needed to scroll down a bit on the GG Forum, there's a thread. Enjoy that GG, sweet bikes. I hope the Spanish Economic Crisis doesn't make a casualty of GG. Lord knows Clay bringing 50 bikes a year into the US, isn't going to pay the bills at the Factory.......

Really. 50 bikes is a bit off.

I'll gladly be wrong, but I thought someone said that was the number of '12 bikes imported. It was definitely low though. I'm sure there will be more '13 bikes He took on Sherco, to make sure he had bikes to sell, if GG dropped the ball again.

I will ride any Husky built up to 2103 but after done.

Looks like you'll be on Huskys for a long time yet!!! :p :D:thumbsup:

They probably said the same thing when Cagiva bought Husky... and when BMW did.... and now again when KTM did... and always will...

"Everything has happened before. And will happen again."

One point seems to be perfectly clear in the meantime: The new owner has sold a significant portion of his stockholding in KTM to the Indians and is now the sole owner of Husqvarna. He says that he wants to stick to single cylinder bikes (and stop the twins). And he wants to strengthen the traditional sector that Husqvarna specialized in. Dealers will not be amalgamated (Husky Husaberg & KTM); this would seem to be logical as the new owner is no longer a majority shareholder in KTM/Husaberg.

So what´s bad about all that? Sounds a lot better than Husky/BMW (like being married to the elphant woman).

They (AG) will ether provide us with cool bikes that are still huskys, or red KTMs and then we can all decide what we want to buy. Thats the brilliance of capitalism and choices. If they are red KTM's, which I am sure will be fine bikes I'll buy a Beta next. Not wide over the styling but bet the new Beta 250 2T is fantastic in the woods. Also with my CR165, TE511, TR650 i am pretty much set and could just ride those till i die :D

RIP??! Nah, the page is just getting turned again. It's been turned pleany of times before, and here we are. I'm personally not feeling too upset about the prospects of a 150SX engine in a CR125 chassis, or a 250sx left-side drive motor in a cr125-based chassis, or how about a 43horse 250sxf engine in an x-lite chassis?!! Maybe a 56hp dungey sxs450 motor in a new xlite450 chassis??!!! Awesome lookout AMA Nationals and SX. Not thrilled about WP but they have come a long way and certainly aren't any worse than Marzocchi, which we all lived with. Running gear is already similar on the two brands. About the only thing that would drive me away is a departure from the Husqvarna chassis to a KTM clone. Then......a TM is looking pretty sexy.....

OMG but sorry the Husqvarna 144 engine is superior to the KTM 150 engine and does not melt down!! I will take the outdated heavy but reliable 250 Husky engine over a KTM 250 engine any day! And the Husky 4-strokes do not boil over at the sight of trouble or tough going. OMG I think I am getting sick. I guess this is all funny and what I should have known for the last 25 years or so. But NO I will never ride a Husky crossed with a KTM! But yes I knew the BMW thing would blow up sooner or later! I think Robertaccio hit the nail on the head! Gas Gas for this year and Beta next year?? And NO thank god the KTM boys did not get their hands on Gas Gas but I am not so sure it is any better??? (To bad someone would have got a new Gasser super cheap.) No I will still ride proudly any Husky built before this takeover!! Everyone knows how I feel about KTM! And that will never change. All good or bad, mostly in fun (yea, right!)But remember I have burned bridges on this KTM thing for years and years and if I ever was to show up on a KTM/Husky/Husky/KTM wow. I think I need to use the toilet...................... OK I'm back and feeling better. We all do what we have to and I understand Husky had no choice. If for some reason Husqvarna is able to well stay Husqvarna and I mean Husqvarna NO WP or KTM junk on the bike and all R and D done in Italy. I may have a different opinion. For now I will crack another beer and cry myself to sleep for something has happened that I NEVER EVER DREAMED WAS POSSIBLE!! SAD:censored::cry::censored:Stay tuned for?:confused: KTM:thumbsdown: MADE IN ITALY TRUE HUSQVARNA:cheers::D

Whatever bmw/Husky had on the paper and in the works might come out year 1 (2014) here before any real design change happens ..

If SP does all this cloning everyone seems so bent on for models sold in the states, it is not gonna work out so well for someone... Plus, if he sells out his shares to bajaj, its a new pimpkin company over there and he is not running it any more ... he'll be groveling for a budget? No, he'll be figuring a way to kick the pimkins off the racing circuit with his Huskies...

After 25 plus years of being a KTM hater.... I'm over it! I don't have the energy to put into it anymore. That said... I can't quite bring myself to ride Orange, but my Husaberg blue clone isn't a bad bike, it's pretty good and it's WP cc forks with Huasberg's own valving, are the best stock forks I've ever ridden. Best bike ever, is still reserved for my '09 WR165.

Yes I was at a dealer today well goofing off. And I did not look at the KTM's but did check out a Husaberg, and well hey I thought it was better then a KTM and not orange and did not say, well KTM. We will see where all this goes as from what I can tell NO one really knows what is going on with this, what I call takeover.................................

Great to hear you say that Norman, cuz I've been thinking my 09 165 Lectron could last me forever. But let's see what happens.

I'm not sure what they are going to do..... I have a wait and see attitude..... I have a new bike I bought in June so I'm set for the next year or so... But I do think if this new owner has divested himself of his holdings in KTM, he would have to make an effort to make his bikes the bike people want... If your only choice was a KTM or a clone of one, people would go to other markets.... And that would play into the hands of makers like Honda, Yamaha and others... Not a wise marketing strategy IMO unless your trying to sink your company... I can't see someone investing that kind of money and sinking the whole thing... I'm not a marketing expert by any stretch of the imagination and I hope they continue to make a bike that is a true Husky.... I totally love mine and when I'm ready for a new bike want to buy another one....
