  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

i've had it since new and the problems never stop.
so now the motor is seized after a new piston 800klm ago.
the shop and i do not get on but have to take it back for warranty work..the dealer will not look at it till christmas....so i am after some email address for husky head office..if you can help out would be great.just to get this work done...
the problems i've had..
from the factory cases were pitted between barrell and case..
first try bigger gasket
2nd try machine the cases
3rd try new cases.
clutch fingers broken from new.
we all know about the speedo. #3 for me.
water pump leaked.
electrics played up and bike would not run.did not find the problem but all connections were removed cleaned and put back.worked then.
broke 5th and 6th gear teeth.
was rebuilt but not properly and back to the shop we go after not having it for 6weeks.one ride on the weekend and back we go.
air box melted.
cooling fan replaced
temp sensor replaced
i have now done roughly 4000klm.rebuilt twice.got to love it..
any help for email address would be great thanks.:thumbsup:
i live in australia and have tried distributor here..his two options.take it back or pay for it yourself.another dealer will not look at it.as could be first dealer stuff up and they will not get paid for it.:excuseme:
 
Wow, that sucks. I can relate, sort of. I had a lemon Gas Gas once. I bought it, trail rode it once, then raced it. 8 miles into the enduro it seized, wide open in sixth gear on an open desert road. I almost bit it big time. The bike had 54 total miles on it. :thumbsdown: It ended up being the left crank bearing. I fixed it (no warranty) and rode it a few times only to seize the left crank bearing again. And again and again. Four times. We tried several fixes, but it all ended up being over a tolerance that was too tight. The case half was replaced by Gas Gas, but after all the money and time, and time down, race money down the tube. Ick. That bike didn't have the extensive problems yours has, but I can relate to having a bike that just isn't right. Fortunately I was able to off load it to a rider who knew of the problems but was willing to buy it cheap. Sold the bike for $1800. Not much solice. Hoping your dealer can fix it in December. What a shame to be out of a bike in the middle of summer!
 
Iam gonna get so much shiz for saying this but I think all huskys are lemons! I have not been hard on them because of how much money I have thrown at them. I have had nothing but issue after issue. We will see how they end up getting straightened out. They all are well made and meticulously put together by hot women. They are gorgeous to look at and nice to ride but dammit problematic. Anyone who is gonna say anything to me other the the words I have spoken. If all huskys were perfect this forum would not exist AND go read any one page of this forum and see how many issues:applause:
This is the only Husky thats worth its weight in gold! Its a 1959!!:jawdrop: This still works like a champ and I swear is badass!

Is that 4 strokes youve spent money on ?
Apart from the jetting being finnicky I dont think there is too much wrong with the Wr 125 . I think the wr 250 is pretty bullet proof too.
 
wow sounds really bad on that Husky ... ESP the gears stripping the teeth ...

I don't buy new bikes but a couple of the main reasons for a new bike purchase is dealer support and warranty... Sounds like you might be lacking there in these cases ... Dealer ships reflect on the product greatly but are different entities than the product ...

These forms exist to pass information, both and good and bad, in a real time fashion ... And a very good job is accomplished here ...

All Huskies are not lemons ... My 08 TCX250 is a very good bike overall for street, trails, tracks \ racing ...

I'm sure there's womens group on the web for sharing UR sewing tips ... Maybe more time should be spent there instead of with the dirt bike riders ... We do get dirty and stuff and have grease under our fingernails...

Well you edited it so it sounds funny. I mean anyone who trys to say different then what I said would be lieing. Huskys are problematic (prob not much more then other brands). I know you race the shiz out of them and they have been good for you but man Ive read and read and read numerous posts where its the same stories all over (People having issue after issue)

Yeah money in 4 strokes. We are in the 4 strokes forum. As far as the jetting throw an injector in it ;)

It looks like your specific words were "overall" been a good bike? Have you had issues of any kind with that gem of yours? ;)

Not trying to start a fight just pointing out the obvious here. Also lets try to stay close to the topic which is this poor bastid has a lemon and he needs help. Ill kick a dealer in the nuts for you. Fortunately both dealers Ive dealt with here in Oregon have been nothing but stellar and rad to work with :thumbsup:

No, I have no email address other than the ones found on the main company site. I've not heard of the company helping out anyone directly - importers and dealers, yes. But not the company itself.

To be honest, your experiences are the complete opposite of the vast majority (possibly all) of the other members of this forum. Although upon occasion there have posts that certainly made things sound terrible. After much investigation (and time spent by me digging into things), it revealed that some significant amount of important information was missing in the original post. I am in no way saying you are omitting anything important, but that was what happened in the past.

Poor what?

Any mechanical device will have issues ...Mine were all listed here on this site and were a non-issue when they happened .... I'm sure some of these guys can provide some avenues of approach for his bike ...
 
B*gger! I hate to hear that. Means that I´m sitting on a time bomb. Have done a bit over 3.000 kms on my new 630. There was a slight sound coming from the clutch that I told the dealer about when I went in for its first service. He told be that a replacement part was there waiting for me, sent by Husqvarna with a recall notice. Only other work done has been pimping the bike with carbon etc. So, when´s disaster going to strike? The only thing worrying me at the moment´s the rear tyre.

And ... why have all the other customers received a goody package by post? But not me?
 
so far the ony problems i have had have been self inflicted ie due to my lack of skill in the bush and gravity
 
There are issues out there but to say husky is less reliable than others is wrong. My experience has been very good and I ride a ton. Other then the valves on my 04 TE450 I have had very few issues to speak of over many bike and MANY miles.

Hope the OP get his sorted, husky has lost a future customers over this one I'm sure.
