• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My new 2011 Txc 250

I have 1 break in ride. So far I think it is going to be an awesome bike. Comparing to my TE450 it is a big change. Power is definitely less, but seems to be plenty strong. I can tell it will want to be on the pipe to shine. The suspension is very good. I need to adjust the clickers a little, but will not have to do any valving or springs. It turns really well. It is very light and changes lines with a mere thought. I'm going to change the pegs and move the bars in the forward position because it seems just a little cramped for me. I'm 6ft tall.

The only thing that I have a problem with is it seemed to stall pretty easy down low. I really don't want to put an auto clutch on it because I have had problems with dead engine starts previously. I don't even know if there is one for it anyway. I want to try to dial in the suspension so I don't need a damper either. And, I hope I don't need a larger tank.

I will be doing the break in oil change tomorrow and also getting it race ready. I will really test it later this week. I'll post after wards.

Heyyyyyyy! I didn't realize the 2011 txc's were getting all that new hardware the te310 has as well! Bigger tank, good mid-pipe guard, new hubs. Sweet! Is that a 2.5 or 2.9g tank stock? Thanks for the pics, BTW:thumbsup:

Oh yeah, these things don't have a whole lot of oomph on the bottom as you've said. Some guys re-gear to save a little clutch work in the slow stuff. I'm learning how to clutch big time! I bet EFM can make you an auto clutch. If they don't have the specs, you'll have to send them your clutch so they can build you one. I've never had an EFM but there are lots of riders on this forum that speak highly of the company.

Congrats! If it responds to a break in period and exhaust like my son's 2010 TC 250 it'll get better. BTW nice pics.

Yep, nice bike and nice pics \ scenery ... My 08 TXC250 took quite a few miles before it opened up ...It was a demo model and I did not have a mileage meter at first so I really have no idea but after ~400 miles or so, the engine suddenly turned itself 'ON' ... so just keep riding ... it should turn into a beast later ...

My bike is alot like a 125 ... it needs to be reved high to be really fast ... some grunt at the bottom, mid is OK ... the top really runs ...Just like a racer should be :0) ... actually geared my bike up 1 tooth on the front ... It really opened the gears up and 1st is still low enough where I usually ride ...

Good riding and send out more pics ;)

Let us know if you get rid of the stalling anytime soon. Some people say until you get some miles on these motors they are prone to flameout.

Ditto on what glangston said. I bought the Ibeat software at the same time as my 2010 TXC. Based on my experiences during break-in, the bike required richer EFI settings when new. As the bike broke in, I kept tuning the settings closer to the original specs. After about 10 hours of break-in, my settings are very close to factory specs. What you hear about Husky's being "tight" and requiring a 10+ hour break-in period is entirely true based on my experiences with 4 Husky 4 strokes. My Husky 2 strokes broke in a lot quicker.

If you can get the dealer to tweak the EFI a tad richer, especially off idle and mid throttle, it may help a bit. I also run my EFI with a 1.5 throttle position offset and it helped improve throttle response. If you lived closer to Charlotte, I'd be happy to meet with you and try some tweaks with my software. Best of luck, I think once the bike is fully broken-in you'll have a screamer just like mine.

Another thing to try is dialing the idle up a bit. I took mine to 2100 new. As it broke in, I'm back to 1950-2000 which is my personal preference. I think 1800 is too low for these bikes.

The tank is about 2.3

Yes, the tires are Pirelli Scorpion Extra. I've never used them before so I will see.

That is good news. Those tires are excellent. I use them exclusively.

They are very good tires. I used them until I was converted to Motoz's. They are quantum leaps better than the oem Mich's that I can't give away.

Wallybean:
I've been wanting to try the Motoz's. Are they really that good? How about the sizing for this 250? The stock is 110/100-18.

They really are that good. They have great grip new and the best thing about them is they last forever without losing much if any grip. Go to Kelly's site at motosportz.com and look at all the possible varieties. The Terrapactor front either soft or IT is the best front I have ever used. If you don't have a lot of sharp rock then try the Terrapactor or enduro st rear. I mounted the enduro IT for this winter due to running in a lot of sharp rock, at least I hope to get to ride somewhere warm this winter. The pirelli extra's also last a long time and don't lose grip like some tires, but they just don't quite have the life of the Motoz's and no tire is the equal of the Motoz front.

Wear out your stock pirelli's and then try the Motoz's.

That is a really nice bike. :)

I'm not sure it has anything to do with "Bike Industry: press releases, magazine articles, rumors" though, I'll move it over to the Main forum.

2011 TC: "...changes in the cylinder head, with revisions to camshaft profile and timing to improve power throughout the rev range."

Sorry, I just realized you had posted. To answer your question......I don't know. Those revisions do not sound familiar with the TXC though.

I really like the polished hubs of the new models, my 08 cast ones just hold onto stains and dirt and are hard to clean. Nice machine enjoy 2011
