• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My Next Bid Deal!

AA Class
I picked up this 1971 Husqvarna CR450 on Craigslist for a very reasonable $200. I will be undertaking a complete restoration of this bike this winter. It was located in the Midwest but has a California title.

What do you think?

It does not turn over, but it will. The previous owner stated that it has a bad shifting fork. And yes, it was a darned good deal. It came with two bing carbs and the left side cover and kick starter was included.

Great score! Wish I could find something like that, but all I need is another non-running Husky right now. My bro' snagged an '85 CR500 for $250 last year and it turned out to be one hell of a bargain also (well, with a few nickle and dimes he had to put into it...but mostly cosmetic stuff except for the shock and swingarm bearings).

Looks great, nice find! Wouldn't a '71 still be round case right side shift, like my MI 250cc ?

It is likely a 1972 as the 1971 models were round case, right shift 4 speeds with the occasional 8 speed case. He can find out with the frame and engine numbers at Husqvarna-parts.com and vintagehusky.com

Does anyone know someone who is capable of transporting this bike to Orange County, California from Lincoln, Nebraska? Perhaps one of you know a long haul trucker who goes thru that part of the country. I'd like to find someone who makes this run so it doesn't cost me an arm and aleg to get it out here to Kalifornia. Thanks!

Nice find!!! I've got one that's the same year. This is definitely a 72. It appears to have the earlier front fender brace, worth big bucks! It needs to have a silencer-ectomy as these came with the grenade type silencer. Also needs chrome skirted Girlings, alum fenders, controls, and all that sort of stuff. Looks like the rims have a sheen to them telling me they're in very good condition. As an ex-desert racer I'm most fond of these five speeds. The motors are virtually indestructible. Excellent job scoring this find.

Thanks for the information, it's much appreciated... I still have to get the bike out to Orange County to start the restoration... Any ideas, gentlemen?

Thank God for independent truckers! My bike has a lift from Nebraska to Southern California, door to door.
