  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know it's running on AC currently but does have a battery so DC lighting is possible. I bought a two pack of H4 or 9003 55/60w sylvania silverstar zxe's thinking it would be a suitable lamp in my stock setup but we have no streetlights around here where i live, and i am in danger of hitting deer or other animals out on the road so my question arrises for two reasons.. One being that the stock headlamp is weak and i wanted to upgrade it if this bulb change didnt improve things, but two because the H4 bulb didnt quite sit right in the housing and after my last ride i realized that it had fallen out of place and melted to the reflector. thus ruining both the bulb and the plastic reflector.... what are my options in 2015? what are my best options i should say.. I'm hesitent to spend $80-90 on an acrebis that may be no better than the stock was.. i'd rather spend more to protect myself but want to know what other night riders are going to suggest rather than just cashing out on some random product online. I'm going into work for the day but thank you in advance for your responses!

I had the same exact problem on my TE250.. The bulb melted the plastic because it did not sit well on the housing. Weak light too. If anyone gives you another option, I will go that way too.

Ive just fitted a Trail Tech X2 HID to my 610 after smashing the mud guard and OEM headlight in an off.
The other choices didnt look very good, so just went with that. Easy to fit.
