  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need headlight and taillight 2010 txc 250

I am riding the SETRA enduro series on an 2010 txc 250. there are a few enduros that are coming up that require you to be "street legal". Anybody know where I can get a headlight and taillight. does not need to work, just need to appear to be street legal. However, I don't know.......is there a plug and play option that is already wired into the txc? I am assuming that a head and taillight from a TE 250 would be the ticket. appreciate any guidance.

Probably the best option would be the trailtech x2 headlight (much better than OEM) and a UFO LED tail light (it's the same one that comes with the TE power-up kit). This way if you decide to go legal you'll have high quality functional parts that don't cost an arm and a leg.

Hi Scotty,

Just caught the tail end of this post......would you know what I need to get lights onto my 09 TC450?

We have done kits for TC450s. There are a bit more work. You need to add a regulator. The TCs will only run a low wattage headlight bulb and an LED tail-light. Nothing else.

Husky headlight

I have a complete enduro kit with wiring and speedo for 2009 WR series, and an additional white polisport headlight, all brand new. Make me an offer on any or all of it.

Make sure you ask the sponsoring club, more and more Police and/or Park folks show up at Enduro's. They are starting to check registration, insurance and that your lights work more and more. Most Enduro's that use public roads for transfer sections (why you have to be legal) will be patrolled by cops and they will expect to see bikes with working lights. I got pulled over in a transfer section in Jersey in 2009 just to check my paperwork. Luckily I didn't loose anytime as we had a reset shortly after.

It would suck to show up to an event only to be turned away when you can't pass tech inspection.
