  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

need help finding rear shock seals 2013 TXC 250R

I have a 2013 TXC 250 R and the rear shock is leaking pretty badly.

When I look at the Husky parts manual they do not list any seals for the rear shock to rebuild it. Just the entire shock is available.

A quick Google search did not help either.

It's just a KYB shock so I can't imagine it's too special.

anyone know where to get a seal kit for the rear shock and the correct part number?

Any tuner shop can get parts for you. Call ZipTy I'm sure they have what you need on the shelf.

Planning to call Halls today. That is where i bought my bike from.

I just figured there is a ton of knowlege on this page and someone might chime in and say sdomething like "a 2007 yamaha YZ250F kit is the same"

I know that KYB shocks were used in many bikes over the years i would assume some of them will cross over, but that information does not seem easily avaliable.

I've got a 2012 and the PO of the bike used FTi in NC so I used them as well as they didn't charge for revlaving. I know they stock a good deal of parts but if you're in the area of Hall it's the way to go.

Just talked to Hall's,

They are stumped too. He is going to do some research and get back to me. He said its the first time he noticed the manual not listing seals and just a complete shock.

Ill give them a day or 2 to see what they come up with.

if you want to know sooner I'd say do what reveille said and call zipty they service a lot of Husky stuff and I'm sure could point you in the right direction.

Halls called me back. He found the parts kit with seals and bushing. They have it In stock. I'll have it tomorrow 35 bucks shipped to my door. ..
