  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need JD Jetting settings for Husky SMR 511 with Akrapovic Evolution Line

husky511

Husqvarna
Hi folks

I need yor help. I have installed the Akrapovic evolution line Exhaust, with the special mapping from Husqvarna. Now my bike is running too lean.
i think that the JD Jetting will be the solution.
Have anyone an idee, witch settin i need for the JD Jetting, that it will bi fit with the installd Akrapovic mapping?

Greatings from Switzerland.

I'm curious as well. I'll be taking mine to the dyno soon but it would be good to have a place to start.

They come pre-programmed with recommended settings so after installing it take the bike for a little spin, picked your jaw up off the ground
as the power increase you will notice is jaw dropping or at least for me it was. The pre-programmed settings are a good starting point then just tweek to
liking. The instructions will explain the adjustments in detail but basically you're just adding or subtracting fuel at different stages of the power curve.
Off the top of my head my settings are something like Green 3.5 Yellow 4.5 Red 7 Blue/Green 3 Blue/Yellow 5 Blue/Red (Accelerator Pump) was like
around 8 but last ride I tried it at 3.5 to see if it would help cure the stalling thing. I think it may have helped some. It seemed to run pretty good with
the AC pump setting way lower. Good luck, you won't be disappointed with the tuner.

You won't be disappointed with the JD. I put a Leo Vince x3 on my te450 and just put the tuner on a couple of weeks ago. Wow! I noticed a big difference in pickup even after going up a tooth on the front sprocket to lower the rpm's riding on the street. Its going to be a huge difference when I get it in the woods with a new 49 tooth in the rear (vs the stock 47). The JD makes power. I set mine at the recommended and have had no problems. They're super easy to install, and where else can you get a tuner for $209? Well worth the $$$.

I've had the full Ti akro and JD tuner on my bike since new (dealer fitted), it rips hard! Haven't ridden a stock bike yet so can't compare. Will eventually get around to getting it dyno'd to get proper settings for the pipe with and without baffle, some tracks around here have noise restrictions.

Fits the proposed JD Settings for Racing Exhaust also, when the Akrapovic Mapping from Husqvarna is on the ECU?

Or have anyone some experence?

just a quick question, the smr 511 is electronically fuel injected right? so how do you jet a fuel injected bike?

You don't. You use a FI Tuner. JD Jetting is the particular tuner they're talking about, maybe that's what was confusing.

Got a depos on a 2012 smr. Looking to put a pipe and tuner on it if needed. Did you dyno it yet, if so can you post the numbers.

Hey can anyone help me out I've got an smr 511 2011 and I've just bought a full akro exhaust for it can I fit the exhaust and disconnect the o2 sensor and it will run fine or do I need my cdi flashed? I asked a mechanic and he said if its on power map 2 then it's fine, I live on Australia do I've got the Australian model if that makes a difference?
Thanks

Just duck down to your local husky dealer, the smr's have 3 maps, they will choose the one for the exhaust you bought an disconnect the o2 sensor.

cheers it was already set on racemap 2 and I disconnected the o2 sensor but it still doesn't run 100% it stalls a bit I'm just gonna install a PVC and stop being a tightarse! Thanks for the reply

Hey guy's i just brought a Jd fuel tunerbox for my smr511 I have the full Ti akro With the power bomb And the bike is not fitted with an o2( the pipe it self does not have any holes for one) sensor anymore Will this still work? im kinda worried...

Jarradp , G'day I fitted a full pro circuit titanium system with race map 2 and it was fine , you may have to turn the idle /air screw out alittle thats the one where the throttle cables run to , if you havent already remove the butterfly in the throttle body . makes a big difference to the bike.

I'd still see the dealer & ask about installing the 'Akro race pipe' map, or 'map set three'.

When the jumper plug is installed with that map set & Map II showing on the dash it will be richer than the map set you have now (Unless already done)
Adjusting the brass idle air screw might also help as mentioned above, out is more engine speed, but also more air (so leaner).
While you are at the dealer, get them to confirm the TPS (throttle position sensor) base voltage = 0.7v.
This has an affect on the richness of the mapping also, more voltage = richer mixture.

PCV would be a good tuning tool for further mods/more power if you decide to go that way also.

DM very precise information , you have spent alot of time on this studying the pros and cons of these bikes. Thanks for you time and information .

I don't know all there is & certainly the guys racing these bikes, the ones that have multiple bikes, have a good understanding as well.
I have spent a good deal of time sorting my own bike though, & many years of EFI systems in cars has helped me a great deal.

The Keihin system isn't partularily clever (by car standards), and just why it isn't using the fitted MAP sensor is still confusing to me
Also, having the maps locked is a pain when other manufacturers choose to make their Keihin systems tunable.
It can be fixed though, or tricked by a tuner as well & it makes them into a great bike once sorted! :applause:

Quick question guy's I got the JD tuner and the TC2012 open air box, Not the bike splatters on high idle when not moving but when riding there pull in the mid range and cuts out way before the revlimter? (using the defualt open race exhuast mapping on it.
