  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need JD Tuner settings for my TE449 with FMF PC4 and Quiet insert

Robster

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi guys,

Anyone have a good setting that works with FMF Powercore 4 with quiet insert?
Also got the TCX airbox lid.

Any help is appreciated. Got the dreaded flame outs back when I mounted the FMF muffler.

Wish I could get the map 3 Londin, but Huskys assembled in Italy are like plague in Husqvarnas home country Sweden.
The shitty Swedish KTM crew that has taken over the Husqvarna service etc in Sweden truly SUCKS!
Sooo many good companys that have sold Huskys for ages have stopped due to the Swedish KTM management.
Absolutely 100% impossible for me to get a map 3 right now, since KTM Sweden has ordered in all the instruments needed
from their retailers and therefore I have no where to turn. Have spoken to +10 retailers and most are VERY frustrated by this situation. =(

The 2nd butterfly is coming of as soon as I find the energy to do it. Today I mounted the EFM clutch even though EFM (Garry) has refused to send missing parts that they forgot to put in the package.
Sucks to say it, but that guy has an attitude problem for foreigners that wants to buy his stuff. =(

The mapping is decent, but still not rich enough on low rpm, but that is gonna be fixed within a day or two.

Great to have a automatic clutch again, although it is hard to adjust without help from EFM..
Luckily I have help from super guys from this forum that help me as much as they can!

You should email ZipTy racing and see what they can do for you to map your ECU. They are excellent at working with international orders. It will take you out of the saddle for a while, but it's an option to consider.

Hi Robster.
The butterfly will quicken response from closed throttle to opened.

With your mapping, if you can see the throttle sensor voltage, try bringing it up above the factory 0.7 v to richen the mapping down low.
If the other higher maps become rich you can pull some out with the JD...
Certainly worked well for my TE449.
My mapping feels like it had a hole just off idle, this cured that.
Easy to do, free & you can put it back if it doesn't help.

Alright guys. Long time no comments from me here.

I have now removed the 2nd butterfly and it makes a whole world of difference with this bike. Had to lean it out to the max with my JD Tuner to get it started though. It is between -10 to -25 degrees celcius here right now, so pretty cold. Anyways. I got the bike to work really really good right now. Only two parts that concerns me a bit. Definently harder to start the bike after the 2nd butterfly removal. Also got a little bit of flameout issue from idle or close to idle, other than that I have never felt a bike that has so fast throttle response as my got right now.

Anyone that has similar setup as me with a JD Tuner and wants to share their setup.

I got the FMF Powercore with quiet insert, TCX airbox, Race Map 2 (cannot get Race Map 3 so need to make it work as good as possible with this mapping) and a JD Tuner (goes without saying).
