• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need Some Help With '86 Xc250 And '93 Wxc360

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and looking for some expert guidance. I just picked up what someone thought was a '85 xc500, but after doing some research I think it is a '86 xc250. I found a few sites that decode VINs but I've had a few contradicting websites. Could anyone verify what this VIN is? XP09489. I am trying to find the engine ID as well but with no luck. Any idea where I might find it? I also got a really nice '93 WXC360 in the deal but it has a bad front rim and I can't find anything out there for it. Does anyone know what other year/model front rims will fit? Any help is greatly appreciated. I've never owned or even knew anybody with a Husky so I'm going into this blind.
Thanks
Jeremy

post pics of both bikes. the engine # on the 86 is just above the kickstarter on the center cases.

Thanks for the help. I found where the engine number should be but it was filed smooth. I just got the bike running and I think it may have a 500 engine in it. It vibrates like crazy and it kicked me back when i was trying to start it. Either way it runs and its now for sale. Thanks again.

What might an '86 XC250/500 that runs be worth? Also where can a guy who lives in Iowa find a front rim for a '93 WXC360? Used or new. Doesn't matter I just want to ride it. You guys are diehards, someone has to know a guy.

Appears to be in solid shape. Couple nice looking bikes ya got there. Those 86s are terrible bikes. Can’t give em away. I’ll take it off your hands for 100 bucks haha only kidding. Looks like a nice bike regardless. Hope a husky fanatic gets their hands on it.
