  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

nevermind..........

Yeah, I cant wait to ride it.
Thinking about a trip to Georgia or Florida for 3 or 4 days in late January or early February.

Adler same as Adige? I rode Gutzy's bike with an Adige and I really, really want one. But I think it might be wise to keep going without one while I learn how to back it in using the clutch first. Getting there...

yeah its called an Adige APTC made by Adler.
ive been in need of one all year.

the slipper doesnt make a difference in learning to back it in IMO. all it does is take the clutch operation out of the process, everything else is still there. if anything it will help you get better as the clutch operation will always be consistent on decel where as manually slipping a standard clutch its harder to consistently hold the sweet spot.

just my 2 cents

$735 plus sales tax through my local dealer

That is a good price......:applause:

I am having a problem getting the Husky with the hydro clutch to slide around well. I had no problems sliding my old DRZ with cabled clutch. Don't seem to get the same "feel" with the hydro...

Right. I'm just saying that I'd like to be a little further along learning the manually slipping method before I get a slipper, just for skill building. I'm in no hurry.

Regarding the DRZ, the Husky has a lot more compression braking I think so slipping the clutch just right is probably more critical. I'm guessing so, anyway. Like I said, the Adige was -really- nice.
