    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

New Corbin Seat Today

I decided to drive down to Hollister today and get a custom made Corbin seat. I got down there by 9:30 AM and they asked me a few questions and went right to work. They molded and placed the seat foam on the bike and shaved some off and checked it on the bike again, and shaved some more and back and forth until it was just right. Then they had me take a ride on the bike with the new seat before they upholstered it. I chose the basket weave top with the asphalt sides and I had them embroider the Corbin logo in red. I was out of there before noon.
The fit and finish is really nice and I'm glad I went there and had them fit it to my bike instead of just ordering one over the phone and taking what I got, because I saw how many times the seat was placed on my bike and then a little taken off here or there before it fit like a glove.
I haven't been on a long ride since I got it home - only to the next town's hardware store, but this weekend I will give it the test ride. Below is a photo of the seat on my SM 610.

I really need to do something about my seat. I'll probably go with XPC, but if I lived close to Corbin I'd definitely do what you did.

You did not mention anything about adding memory foam to the top, I take it you just used the OEM foam from your seat.

I have my complete stock seat in case I can get on Renazo Racing's waiting list. They used all new foam in the seat. The cool thing was they let you be a part of the build and have you sit on it and ride it before they ever put the cover on. You get to watch the build from beginning to the end.

You are still trying to get on Renazo's waiting list and you still have a stock seat?

Were they able to make it so that the original dzuz fastener was long enough to hold the seat in place? I have a Renazco but the bolt is too short.

I have a Renazco seat and the dzuz fastner works fine. The previous owner was shorter than I and got a thin seat, almost too thin, my seat to pegs relationship is a little short. Overall I like it but it seems to be a long way up when I stand.

The bolt fits perfect.

Since they didn't have a seat pan for the 08' SM 610, they wouldn't have been able to do it. Having me there made all the difference between getting a ill fitting TE 610 seat, or one that fit's like a glove for the SM.

The Renazco seat was six months away as they don't have a spot open until April. The Corbin was two hours drive away and will be much better than my stock seat until I can get one made by Renazco.
