• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey everyone I just picked up a 2004 TE450 with all the good bits! Just thought I would say hi quickly and check the place out! Here is a pic of my new to me bike, don't mind how compressed the front shocks, the tie downs were too tight I loosened them after this pic.

Looks like a super clean 04 TE 450 and the oversize tank was a great modification. Congrats...it's a great bike. I have an 04 TE 450 and an 08 TXC 510. The 450 is always a pleasure to ride. The 510 is very fast but still fun. On the 450, I went to all white plastic; fenders, tank shrouds and number plates. Ordered some great graphics from PG ride. Also added some CV4 hoses, Zeta bark busters with Pro Taper gold bars. That was last winters project. It's pretty much set up now and I love to ride it. This winter / spring, I'm looking to rehab an 07 TC 250 for my son. Have been riding Husqvarna's since 1968 and love the brand. Your bike will give you years of fun. ENJOY and welcome to the Husky family!

Nice. Keep an eye on the valves as the 04's had some issues. Otherwise super solid bikes. I rode the crap out of my 04 TE450 and it was super solid.

Sorry for the late replies! The oversize tank works wonders it does need it.

I am watching the valves closely motosports doing a valve adjust right now actually.

I'm over on Long Island so a bit far from you. Wouldn't mind going upstate though and riding for a bit I have some friends up that way. Bike is out of commission for another week or two though its getting new valves and maybe a new piston. Pulling everything saturday.

There really isn't a lot of space up my way to ride "legally" but we have lots and lots of state land and trails "illegal trails" but so long as we don't bother people getting to and from we don't get hassled that much lots of people ride in Hinkley NY and don't or at least shouldn't get bothered that much.... A few years ago i got a hefty fine for riding my ATV on a " PUBLIC HIGHWAY " the highway in question was a snowmobile trail / limited use that was in the middle of no where . Star Hill / Penn Mt St Forest. that cost me 650 $ and two other riders got the same fine + unregistered uninsured. The Stuben town court judge was not a happy camper and at least 90+ years old i sold my ATV paid the fine and bought a 96 DR 350 SE (miss that thing) and rode it up there HARD till the cops came and they couldn't do anything (they were flabbergasted) this dirt bike is street legal isn't this a public highway off with you :busted: .
