• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Purchased my very first Husky yesterday. I was actually in the market for an XR, but happened across a guy at our corner country store who was selling his 2008 TE610 with 1,000 miles for $1,500. It seemed like a good deal, but admittedly, I don't know much about these bikes.

The bike needs a clutch cable and lever as well as a rear tire. I took a quick look on somE of my usual online parts suppliers and could not find either the lever or the cable. Any recommendations for a source?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for tires. I'm going to title it and ride a bit on the street, but I mostly chase after my kids on dirt roads and some local trails.

Any help is truly appreciated.

Congrats and what a wicked deal!

I use motoxotica for my parts purchases. Lots of good parts dealers listed on the bottom of this forums home page.

Dude, you got a SMOKIN DEAL****************************************

I would also start with Dan at Motoxotica, not too far north considering your in the Bay Area it appears.

Thanks....it seemed like a good deal, even with the broken clutch lever and cable. The original owner paid cash for the bike here locally in NC. He said he laid it down and broke the lever and cable. After that, he said the bike sat for almost a year and now he's out of work and needed the cash. I don't think there is a big market for Husky bikes either, so that may have driven his price down.

I'm going to call Motoxotica today for the clutch lever and cable. I've only ridden this bike without the clutch and I don't want to mess it up.

Anyone have a recommendation for DS tires? I'd like to get this thing back into good working order before next weekend when my kids come and want to ride their bikes.
