  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New IMS tank tight fit

Good to know, thanks. I did try on and off many many times hoping it would massage on. Since I'm out of time for this weekend, I put the stock tank back on and I'll try it again next week and see how that goes. I'd be less concerned about it if the tank didn't seem off center. I will give it another shot though. Thanks for letting me know how your install went.

Take the tank with you and have the others help?

Good idea, I think I'll do that though I don't really want to ask anyone else to spend time helping me with this during this weekend. I had a really rough day today and this just topped it off. George Erl helped me understand how to get a broken oil filter cover bolt out and once I got that out, I thought the rest would be easy going. I think the lesson I should learn here is get this stuff done before there is no time left. Being in a rush is never a good thing.

FWIW, just shoe-horned my black IMS on tonight and it didn't fit very well either. Had to "persuade" it a bit but finally got the seat to lock down. Hoping a little vibration and heat will help it settle in over time. On the plus side, no fuel leaks and she fired right up! Like Kelly mentioned, it's nice and smooth between the knees compared to the old shrouds, just a lot of black space to fill though.
