• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I probably needed new reeds a whille ago.....anyway for the price of new OEM reeds I decided to simply order up a Moto Tassinari V-Force 4 reed assembly. Bike just feels better and smoother. Maybe a new set of reeds may have done the same.....whatever, my machine is re-smooth groovin'
She is working so great it will be a shame to part with her......
Got to witness the magic stylings of G-G rider Noah K while following him around and doing all the A lines........E Cross Pro lines..nope. Also as a good test of the motor for the trials stuff.

Great minds think alike... I ordered a set of v force 4 yesterday. After having a petal break and screwing me up, I'm done with the ktm knock off v force 3 warped ones.

I finally installed my new vforce 4 reeds today. 15 minute job and I went out riding afterwards. Bike runs really nice and smooth and pulls strong on the bottom. Happy man am I.

the V4 have a spacer block or look to be around 5mm thicker than stock

ddid this effect your carb install a intake boot from air filter to warp a little?

talking about the 14 to 16 set up

Nope. I cut my airboot when I first installed the lectron as suggested for a 2015 300 xcw

i am talking about a stock carb not lectron

so i guess you are all saying the V4 is same as stock meaning the length and does not push the carb back

I never measured if it moved the carb back a slight bit it is/was irrelevant to function (the filter side manifold assy is very flexible a couple mm one way or another has no issues. If you guys feel the need to get a number I can caliper the base thickness of the OEM block and measure the V4........seems like you already have (5 mm was mentioned)
However I trust Moto Tassinari Engineering/R&D. The part is the V4 designed for the TE300 (and other models) to be plug and play all things being in OEM configuration. When you add other components and cut things there are never any guarantees about fit.
Oh and trust me on function since installing the V4 I have raced the thing 2 times , 1 AMA ISDE 2 day qualifier and 1 local Mexico GNCC type race and add a bunch of practice and trail rides too. As an additional I am running the JD Jetting Sea Level set up even as high as 4k feet due to the colder temps we have now (colder being 50s-60s). It runs spot on.

Great post Robert. Sometimes these threads get mucked up with info pertaining to different setups.
I'm also very pleased with the vforce4 so far. Loretta Lynn's spring ride 1st week of April will be my next multi day event so we'll see then but I'm confident she's dialed in now.

Robert, just a folow up post. I rode lorettas last weekend with the vforce 4 - Lectron setup and wow! Tons of smooth bottom end now and no flat spots anywhere. Amazing how much a proper set of reeds can change the engine performance.
