  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Spent yesterday with my brother driving to pick up his new '08 te250 holdover. Still in the crate. :applause:

It will be a little while before he picks up the power up kit and other stuff he wants for it, so in the meantime, my question is- can you strip the smog crap off of the EFI models the exact same way I did with my carbed TE? I didn't see a reason why not, but figured I'd ask.

Purchased my 08 TE510 from Heinens in MN last Mar and got a great deal. They did have a 08 TE610 back in Dec for less than $6K, however
they may have sold it.

Highly recommend this dealer and they ship also.

Well not exactly, as there is significantly less to remove on the 08 EFI bikes. Taking the front motor mount bolt to remove the carbon canister is the most involved step.

It was 3 years ago I stripped the 'octopus' off of 510, so I'm sure I forgot how much crap there was.

I just got a quick glance at his as we wheeled it into the garage and I went home...but it looked like for the most part, strip extra hose off from the fuel cap down, put a vent on at the cap, get rid of the cannister and plug the nipple where it goes into the engine...if I saw it all.

I should get a better look at it later this week when I help him finish the assembly and prep.

This is great to hear! I'm in Wisconsin, found a TE250 from them and bought it! I pick it up next month.
