I finally pulled the trigger yesterday on the SM610 with 1400 miles as my first bike and holy cow I may need surgery to reattach my arms and that stock pipe has some bark when you get on it!
Here are some pictures I think they ended up sideways dont ask why because I am a noob
Anyways the bike is bone stock besides some plastidip on the plastics (original black plastics underneath) and from what I have seen the smog can has been removed.
I was told the valves have not been checked since break in is that something i should do before anymore around town rides (still learning!) and maybe an oil change while I am working on the thing? If you guys could point me in the right direction on a tutorial or good thread on whatever must do's and donts and just things to watch out for I would really appreciate it.
Few other minor things that I have experienced with it and and may have already been answered or already have a fix:
1. Neutral is hard to find while stopped and or I know false neutral is known problem.
2. Clutched pulled in fully lurches slightly when put into 1st gear.
3. can you click into neutral from 2nd gear or do you have to go down to 1st gear first, I know neutral is a half click up from 1st gear?
4. Is letting the bike warm up for a few minutes a good thing before riding...I believe I read revving it while cold or even revving thumpers hard period in neutral or the clutch in bad?
5. Im about 180 pounds with gear at the most and 5'10 and can almost flat foot the bike. I would like to maybe lower the back spring a hair just to have a bit more control starting out and maybe suspend it for my weight because it feels fairly soft when braking.
I am a total noob to motorcycles in general and I will probably have a ton more questions but I appreciate any feedback or opinions that you might have
