• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey folks, I picked up this sweet 09 610TE with 6800 miles on the ODO about 2 weeks ago. My last bike back East was an 05 450 EXC.

Few pictures...
Everyones seen a bike on a truck before, but a truck on a bike?

Few things....I'm a big fucker at 6'3" 290lbs.
I picked up a Race Tech 6kg spring for the rear, but have to set the clickers to full or else it's soft as hell. I still need to set up the sag, but I'm wondering if there's another, heavier spring I should/could get or just replace the shock completely with an ohlins or similar. (get something built?)

Also, I scoured the web but could not find any info on aftermarket springs for the front Marzocchi shocks. I've got a local suspension guy who's looking into it, but no idea what he'll find. On the shocks, is only the rebound adjustable? (via the screws in the top of the forks) Preload is adjustable via spacers inside the shocks?

I'm also in the market for a slightly taller, firmer seat.

Thanks in advance, I'm pretty psyched for this bike. It pulls a lot like my XRR and EXC did. The front wheels tends to get a bit squirrely, but I think that's the tire and the fact the the forks are so soft for me.

Boy you're a big 'un :)

Just kidding. Nice looking bike!

My 630 (which I think shares some suspension components with your 610) has the following:

Part Number 40462-58 Fork Spring 40x462 .58KB/MM
Part Number 60260-6.6-R Shock Spring 60x260 K=6.6 RED

This was done late 2011 by the previous owner at a dealership down in SD, so I dunno if the parts are still available.

Looks like the seat currently on the bike is not a stock seat? I have a SeatConcepts seat and it feels a little taller than the stock, but not by much. They don't list a taller option for the 610 but it may be worth emailing to see if they can do one. I sometimes strap an Airhawk Cruiser Pillion on, which adds height, its good for long distance tarmac but gets in the way offroad.
