• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Picked Up New Husqvarna. Don’t Know Year Or Model.

Brennon

Husqvarna
Hey everyone! My names is Brennon and I’m new to the cafe. I just picked up what I believe to be a mid to late 80s Husqvarna but can’t find very much on the internet as far as deciphering frame numbers goes. I hope someone can help me out with this. I will post some photos of what numbers I’ve pulled off. Your the truth. Thank you in advance. Engine number in photo. 842251951H P25844. These numbers are off the left side steering column

The last 6-7 numbers or letters of the frame serial number are not complete but I am believe it is a 87 430XC looking at the motor number. and last group of the frame number is 2xxxxx. Do you have a picture of the complete bike showing both sides? Is there an X or W or C in front of the P?

2143 is 87 430 xc
And i think youll find where you saw "HP" it is actually "XP" which is correct for the same bike

Nice bike

You guys are great! Silversteak I think your right. I thought it was a cut mark because it didn’t look like the rest of the print. Thank you all so much! Now if I can take this one step further, I want to run through this bad boy. Change fluids and all around tighten it up but no manual came with it. Would anybody have a manual or know where a download site would be? I’ve checked HVA and they only have a parts list manual. If not does anybody know fluid capacities? By the way I am so excited that there is a good group and passion for these old bikes. My Pop always says “ A hobby is getting a new machine, a passion is keeping the old ones going.”
