    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Pivot Pegzs

Lots of folks like them... I couldn't stand them. I just couldn't get used to them moving around on my, never felt stable.
 
I do like them, I had them on my Tenere. But that experience taught me that I didn't really find them worth the extra cost over regular (significantly cheaper) wide pegs. So I did not order them for the Terra.
 
I have a set on my 310, I like them but at the same time I can barely tell a difference when Im actually riding but I do feel more planted on the pegs more than I did with the stockers.
 
Had them on a DR650 and a 310. Liked them and disliked them simultaneously. I now run fastway pegs and have come to appreciate the feel of solid pegs. I initially went with the pivot pegs due to large feet and the lowering ability but the fastway pegs lower even more. Personal preference I guess. BTW, the pivot pegs are extremely heavy, I'd guess 3 times that of oem so keep that in mind if weight is important to you. There has also been threads of guys being injured by the pivot springs breaking. I never had a failure myself.
 
I've tried them out on a friends DR650. I didn't care for the "loose" feeling they give for the type of trail riding I do, but I imagine they are great if you need to lean back and blast through whoops or often find your bike at extreme angles as you shred. I don't (can't) ride my Terra in that fashion, however, and much prefer the feel that solid pegs give. Who knows? Perhaps I would have gotten accustomed to them given more time and loved them. It could be one of those "acquired taste" kind of products.

Have just fitted to my TR, test ride a bit different, however I can see that on gnarly dirt with lots of standing, they be of great advantage

Gets a tick of approval from me - we'll see after a few 1,000 klms

Always curious about these too. Maybe you can give some feedback once you've given them a thorough testing.
 
I fitted Pivotz to my Dakar many years ago when they were only available for MX bikes, they reduce weight transfer when changing gears/braking when you have stiff boots on and change timing on clutch less shifts which takes time to adjust. They have also virtually eliminated wear on the sole of the boots as well

I can see where they might be good, and might take a little to get used to. With my right ankle a bit stiff from the broken bones, the pivot peg on that side would be nice. But for me, I think I like to be planted good, but that all can change with more experience.

Within an hours riding they felt good & solid

Another 400klm ride today - true Pivot Pegzs are an acquired taste for some - For me they justify the expense
