• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Please can someone help me!! I'm new to husky's..

Husqvarna
I have recently purchased my first husky from a salvage auction. I desperatley want to re-register it on the road but it has no frame numbers and I need to identify its year to avoid it being registered on a Q-plate. Can anyone please help me. The engine numbers are A601897. The salvage reciept I got states it is an 04-06. But the DVLA say I need a more solid confirmation of this. The bike I have is identical to the one in my pics. It is a carburettor engine not fuel injection.
Thanks

Where is the pic?

The frame number is on the steering head most likely so there should be some grind marks there somewhere ... I'm thinking it is very hard to grind these numbers away 100% so you might be able to lift them somehow but someone here will need to confirm this ...

Hi Peter,

The bike in your profile pic is a SM610 introduced in the UK in late 2005 as a 2006 model and if yours has a carb it will be one of these 2006 model year bikes. Fuel injection came in on the 2007s.

However without a chassis number to match the engine number you are going to struggle to get an age related plate. There is no way of verifying the genuine age of the bike without the chassis number as for example it could be an 07 that's had an 06 engine fitted.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
