Sorry but I can not solve a problem of loss of water from the waste water of the radiator. Could you please check in your cap (number 6) there is a gasket? I am now convinced that my mechanic lost it and now the thread die then I find that water below. Thank you all if someone could also take a picture with the cap would be the best.


Scusate ma non riesco a risolvere un problema di perdita di acqua dalla vaschetta di recupero dell'acqua del radiatore. Potreste per favore controllare se dentro il vostro tappo (numero 6) c'è una guarnizione? Sono ormai convinto che il mio meccanico l'abbia persa e ora dal filetto trafila acqua che poi trovo più in basso. Grazie a tutti se qualcuno potesse anche fare una foto al tappo sarebbe il massimo.

there is no gasket or o-ring but it does seem like it would be very easy to cross-thread that cap. check to see if it is going on strait. if not you may need a new cap and or tank.......

No gasket or O-ring on mine either.

I thought it was odd too when I first noticed it.

If you are geting leaking from the cap area, your overflow tank might be overfull.

There may be some air in your cooling system. Many of us have experienced this. Try burping the system to get rid of excess air bubbles.

Until I burped mine, it would leak from the cap when the level was at or near the max full line.
Since burping it I now keep it at the minimum level and have had no more leaks.

Unfortunately I have already done burp abbondandemente my radiator. However, I read the link you gave me, looking for interesting news.

want to give it a try because I think I see the water that comes out of the drain plug threads and running down the tray until it rests on the screw that holds the black plastic attached to it. I bought some gaskets and the one in the picture seems to me to fit the bill. I cleaned the area well, insert the gasket in the lid and closed. Now let's see if I can find again the wet area!

Voglio fare una prova perchè secondo me l'acqua che vedo esce dalla filettatura del tappo e cola lungo la vaschetta fino a fermarsi sulla vite che tiene la plastica nera attaccata ad essa. Ho comprato varie guarnizioni e quella in foto mi sembra adatta allo scopo. Ho pulito bene la zona, inserito la guarnizione nel tappo e chiuso. Ora vediamo se troverò di nuovo la zona bagnata!

However, the seal of the picture was not good, now I have tried to mettereuna classic circular cross section. Engages perfectly on the bottom of the cap in a home that seems made. Will update in a few days

also it is a vented expansion tank. if the bike is heating up or over full fluid will leak from the cap

It is the picture in the middle of the cap it should be open. But I think the fluid in my bike leaking through the drain plug threads, and this is not good

I had this issue and added an o ring which did help but found that it was the level settling down. It will normaly settle half way in the bottle but note that the bottle is higher than the radiator so it should be fine what ever the level ends up. Give it more time to settle.

The level of the liquid, in my case, is between the minimum and maximum values. After inserting the O-ring in the cap no longer leaked. Even if it was too much though it would be fair that came out of the photo at the top of the cap. And not by the thread of the cap. Even with the right level because nothing prevents the liquid from inside shake during normal motion of the bike. And this I would definitely go out again. The seal that I put it like this

If the fluid is still coming out and there's no air in the system, then it needs to level out more.
If your bike is like mine that the bottle had a leak at the bottom hose then it requires fixing or replacing

In my've already changed the pan, because I thought I was the one to leak. I seemed to lose the screw seat that is on the front that holds fixed on the black plastic part of the conveyors. Then I realized that it was not her because even the new one had fluid around the vine. The tube and its attack are ok. Definitely coming out from the cap through the thread and then trickled down. Now with the O-ring does not seem to lose more. It 'also true that these days it's raining and the bike is always very wet. To make sure I have to wait until the rain stops. But then again, I am sure that is not the problem.
