• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

That was a hand-built XC with after-market, 1-off swing arm, CR rear wheel, custom R torque arm, custom pipe, Jap F disc (Honda I think), etc.

They only made 2-3 but were superseded when Husky got them right the following year. Wasn't really an MX class for them & not sure they survived the dez so well.

A 510 with a PC swingarm. The owner ( topscotjockshock) is in UK and posted it in MX trax.
Search it in the differents threads and convince him to make copies.:notworthy:
Let reserve one for me.

Thanks for the pic. I've been looking for a good pick of a 510 with that plastic tank on it. Thats the same NOS tank I have.

Got to make one of those swinging arms, I will look into it, do you think that is a Clarke tank in the pic or a stock 510 tank ?

Article states that the tank is "high-zoot, hand molded aluminum" ...

Ooops! Didnt read the article. Looking at the cap I thought it was like my factory plastic tank which is patterned after a 81-83 Alum. tank, has indent for the "H". Molded Husqvarna in it but made by Acerbis. Doesn't have the drop down RH sump like the 84's

Thats the one.

Here's pics of a genuine 510 tank.

That is the same tank as I have. I was going to put it on my 84 WR250 but being its NOS I decided not to put it on a trail bike, needs to go on a resto project!

Another bit of Pro Circuit surfacing....

I noticed that in one of the picks it has wide foot pegs. Is that something that was available then?
